Our tour guide Nina was great! She provided much detail and information of the area. She was also very friendly and made us really appreciate the tour. Thank you, Nina!
Our tour guide Deborah was amazing! Pleasant, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She presented the Anne Frank story with sharing from her copy of the diary. We appreciated the readings that were affirmed in the museum tour. Deborah invited questions and tour member participation. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide was informative, friendly, and professional. She was also very insightful as she replied to questions we asked. Loved her!!!
Our guide was amazing!! She read Anne Frank diary so beautifully! I learned a lot from this visit. It was so 🖤 emotional!!
We first booked this experience because there weren't any more tickets available for the Anne Frank house when we were in Amsterdam. I'm so glad! Not only do they give you tickets for entry but you get a wonderful background into the city, the Jewish community and how all these are featured in her diary. I was a sobering yet beautiful tour. I honestly feel this is the best way to visit the Anne Frank house, by doing this tour first.
An impressive, lasting tour by your Nina! She left a lasting impression with her nice, competent way of describing the life and work of Anne Frank in this tour! Thanks again, Nina!!!

Muito organizado! Nossa guia, Sarah, conduziu o tour com maestria! Muito simpática, atenciosa e entendida do assunto. Recomendo!
The whole experience was Great but it was made perfect by the amazing knowledge from our guy Linn, she had all the answers and presented herself so well! My partner and I could have spent the whole day talking to her!
The guide Leani very good at explaining and making the tour very enjoyable and interesting. Thank you

The tour was good. The tour guide tried, but wasn't a great tour guide. She was passonaite about the subject, but not about the participants. She spent most of the time not speaking to us, talking to another "student" who it wasn't clear if he was a participate or her date. She virtually ran through the streets at a break neck speed. Never once did she look back to see those of us at the end of the group dodging bycycles and struggling to keep up with her. The tour guide I had the day before actually waited for all of us to get across the street and came back for anyone who got left behind. At one point one of the young people actually fell off the curb - the tour guide never noticed. You ask for photos - what photos? How was there time to take any photos? WE ran from one spot to another. Lastly some of the information she gave noticeably contradicts other prominent sources. I rated the tour good, as it was generally good to walk through the streets of amsterdam. The tour guide needs improvement.
Fran was an excellent guide--very knowlegeable and personable as well. Taking the walking tour prior to visiting the house made the experience a much richer one.
Lili was a terrific tour guide and was clearly passionate about the story of Anne Frank. The tour prior was a great introduction to visiting the Anne Frank house. Very moving tour and well done.
Learned some additional things on the walking tour about the city area/history. The information shared on the walking tour regarding the Frank family is repeated on the house tour. We bought this tour because the house tickets were sold out. I would say that if you have the opportunity to get the house tickets, skip this walking tour and select another covering the city instead. However, a good experience and appreciated the small group.
I loved how Lili took us through the whole tour and emphasized Anne Frank's diary! 👏🏼👏🏼

The information our tour leader shared was very helpful to understanding the events that led to Anne Frank's hiding and life, and ultimately death. Being in the places we walked to was excellent contact. Our guide Louise was great'
Well paced walk through the city, with interesting information shared. Noemi's enthusiasm shined through the stories giving context to the time period. Very enjoyable.
The walking tour and the Anne Frank experience were wonderful. initially they scanned our tickets and said they were used previously. After some discussion and support from others on the tour they did allow us to enter.
Our guide, Zoe, made this the single BEST tour we had over the past two weeks. This includes all our castle tours. Her presentation was absolutely touching and beautiful.
I love how there was a set up by going on the walking tour that included hearing excerpts from Anne Frank's Diary prior to going to Anne Frank Museum.
The experience was good, for eductional and informative, great tour and location stops. Else was great from start to finish. Pass on my thanks as had to dash off at the end due to heavy downpour of rain.
Chiara's good organization, language skills and very good detailed knowledge made for a successful afternoon as a tour guide. Her friendly demeanor was a great pleasure.

Martina S was very knowledgeable and informative on our tour and gave a great perspective on the period along with the Anne Frank story. We timed the tour with our visit to the Anne Frank Museum.
* I had to click on items that don't apply to our situation because the review would not submit without these boxes checked. Disregard the checks. We as a group thought the tour would be lead by someone telling us only facts about world war 2 and Anne Frank's house. There were 10 of us in our group and none of us were pleased with his tour. We all love history and several in our group are WW2 history fans. A couple of us had relatives that died freeing European countries from the nazis. I, in particular, am the granddaughter of an American soldier that gave his life to free the European people from nazi control. Our tour guide is an activist by his own admission. Seems to be an activist against any party that he doesn't agree with. He told our group that the nazi party are now in charge of Germany and one other country. We all know that what the Germans did to Jews was terrible and should never happen again. Our tour guide told us several times that "nazis are bad "duh! We are well aware. Implying several times that we have to keep the nazis from taking over again. Seemed very political, which made us uncomfortable. There we good parts to the tour that were informative and that we learned a few new things too. Especially about the gold name plates at some of the door fronts. We really wished the whole tour stuck to history and not a college kids opinion.
Valeria was an excellent guide for the Anne Frank Walking tour. She gave a full and interesting history of the Frank family. She reviewed the Jewish history in Amsterdam and the effects the community had on the wealth of the City after fleeing Spain. We had a great overview of the events around und Anne Franks hiding and the genesis of her journal. Through getting to know the characters, the horror of the Holocaust could be appreciated
Good evening Our guide took our group on the informative tour in a welcoming, highly competent and emphatic manner! He was always eager to give us more information, even in a shady spot! information! The story of the fate of the Jews in Holland affected me deeply, not least because it took place right there! Thank you very much, I can only recommend this valuable tour to everyone!

We had a great experience on the Anne Frank / WWII walking tour, and much of that was thanks to our guide, Iris. She was extremely knowledgeable, providing deep insight and historical context in a way that was both engaging and respectful. Iris spoke eloquently and clearly throughout the tour, making it easy to follow along and absorb the wealth of information she shared. She was also very approachable and open to questions, creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the group. I would highly recommend this tour—especially with Iris as your guide.
Awesome Information all along the walking tour.. Its a must when you want to learn about the history associate with this iconic place in Amsterdam.
Barbara our guide, was excellent. Lovely personality and she presented the story beautifully. Her knowledge of the Frank family and WW2 kept us interested throughout the tour, which finished nicely at the Anne Frank House in Prinsengracht. Would love to go on other trips with Barbar leading.
The group guide was Manuel, who easily surpassed any tour guide I have ever witnessed. His knowledge , energy and communication skills were exceptional and we can't thank him enough for sharing bucketfuls of his knowledge about the Immigrant Jewish community and their integration with the Dutch community in Amsterdam from the early 20th century up to and through the Nazi occupation through to liberation day on 04 May 1945 and the subsequent history of the survivors of the Frank family. Manuel fielded dozens of questions with passion and detail which was delivered with positiivity and good humour where appropriate. His investment in building the presentation and guided tour has been immense and we can't thank him enough for educating us so much more in a short 120 minutes . His tour has a huge and lasting in impact and we would recommend his professionalism and welcoming style every time ! Please ensure that he is aware of this feedback from the 1030 am tour on Monday 28 April 2025. Bill and Sarah . UK

Virginie our guide took the time to give us lots of explanations, but this is only possible if there's no need to run all the way to the Anne Frank House. So it's best to stagger your visits between the Anne Frank House and this guided tour. We were able to discover the place where the names of all the dead Jews are individually inscribed on the bricks.

Our guide Xavier was brilliant. He's thoughtful and gives so much of himself and his time to bring us a unique story about Anne Franck's life. Thank you very much Xavier 😍

Was a good boat tour for the cheap price. Wasn't an hour, was closer to 40 mins. Saw a decent amount of things. I am not sure we ever passed the Anne Frank house as advertised, and if we did the audio guide did not point it out like it did the other attractions.

Audiovisual guide in French for the museum and synagogue. We appreciated the warm welcome from the staff. We appreciated the guide. However, concerning the information, we did not understand that the entrance to Anne Franck's house was not included. Also, we were late in receiving your proposal for booking the entrance to the synagogue. We would have liked to have received this information earlier. Fortunately, we were staying in Amsterdam to benefit from the museum and synagogue entrance.

I thought our tickets were for May 13 but actually were for May12. A kind gentleman still allowed us in for the tour. Visit was memorable for my wife and I as we walked on the same floors and stairs as Anne and her family did. We were sad and angry that such a talented young girl would never realize that she became an accomplished author just as she planned. It was a remarkable tour. Thank you.
Having read Anne's diary, it brought the annexe to life, just wish that it had been furnished as it was, this would have given us a much better feeling of what it would have been like to experience living in such close quarters for such a long time.
The visit to Anne Frank's house went well. It made me think about how cruel the Second World War was, especially to the Jews.

The audio visuals were excellent burlt the renovations though took away from the original look of the building which was a mistake.

Very well managed. Not too crowded. It was a fantastic experience, diving into the daily life of the Frank's family whilst in hiding. Very emotional and informative.
An exciting and evocative tour suitable for even the youngest children. My 10-year-old son understood and appreciated the story as you told it with the audio guide. My 16-year-old teenage son also enjoyed the tour and especially the final video about the meaning of democracy and the danger of dictatorship. Thank you

It's a unique experience, emotionally charged, sad and distressing at the same time, but one that has the merit of bringing to life the story of Anne Frank, who rightly became a martyr and an icon of the war.

Anne Frank was a German-born Jewish girl who became world-renowned posthumously for the diary she kept while hiding from Nazi persecution during World War II.
As Nazi Germany occupied the Netherlands, the Frank family, along with four other individuals, went into hiding in July 1942. Their hiding place was a concealed annex at the back of her father's business building. During the 25 months she spent in the "Secret Annex," Anne kept a diary in which she recorded her daily experiences, fears, hopes, and her thoughts on growing up amidst such extraordinary circumstances.
On August 4, 1944, the hiding place was discovered by the Gestapo. They were arrested and sent to concentration camps. Anne and her sister, Margot, were transferred to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where they both died of typhus in February or March 1945. Anne's father, Otto Frank, the sole survivor, got Anne’s diary published.
Anne's diary offers a firsthand, authentic account of what it was like to live in hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, allowing readers to connect with the tragedy through the eyes of one individual.
The diary, addressed to a fictional friend named "Kitty," contains descriptions of the cramped living conditions, the challenges of maintaining silence during the day, and the constant fear of discovery. She also records the news they hear on the radio about the war's progression, the Allied invasions, and the worsening situation for Jews.
While there are other diaries from the Holocaust, Anne's is remarkable because it's written in real-time by a young teenager. Over the years, it has been translated into more than 60 languages and was added to the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2009.
Located at Prinsengracht 263, the Anne Frank House is a biographical museum and writer's house dedicated to Anne Frank. The core of the museum is the actual building where Anne Frank, her family, and four other Jewish individuals hid for over two years, known as the "Secret Annex" (Achterhuis). The Anne Frank House, established in 1957, continues to preserve the house as a museum. This hidden space, behind her father Otto Frank's business, shows the cramped, secluded conditions they endured.
The museum also includes exhibitions that tell Anne’s life story, provide historical context of the Holocaust and World War II, feature original artifacts, documents, photographs, and film clips. You can even see Anne’s original diary and other writings.

Closed: The Anne Frank House is closed on Yom Kippur (Oct 2).
