Why watch The Great Gatsby Musical?

    • Join the greatest party in London with this Tony award-winning adaptation of Fitzgerald's classic novel, produced by award-winning artist Chunsoo Shin.
    • Fresh from a gloriously successful run on Broadway, the 'shimmering, sparkling spectacle' (Variety) brings all the glitz and glam of the roaring 20s to the stage.
    • Featuring a dazzling musical score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen that seamlessly blends groovy jazz with contemporary pop tunes.
    • Transport yourself to the Jazz Age with fringes, frills, and pearls moving to the beats of 22 original songs.

Although it was a commercial disappointment during the author’s lifetime, this is a story that has since been well-loved and adapted for the stage numerous times. The Great Gatsby musical is a stunning reimagination of F. Scott Fitzgerald's seminal novel, crafted to capture the era's decadence and underlying social tensions. With 22 original songs that explore the emotional themes behind the blinding display of wealth and status. Watch the elusive American Dream unfold with a painful love story with your tickets to The Great Gatsby at London Coliseum!

    Storyline

    F. Scott Fitzgerald published The Great Gatsby in 1925, inspired by his romance with a wealthy socialite and the roaring galas he was privy to during their relationship. The plot similarly follows the narrator Nick Carraway’s account of his acquaintance with his wealthy and extravagant neighbor, Jay Gatsby. Gatsby seems intent on finding a way to reunite with Daisy, his former flame - hosting legendary parties that pulse with jazz and champagne, yet Gatsby himself remains an enigma. But while he hides behind the glow of opulence, the story peels back the tragic reality of his unfulfilled desire.

The seats were half-seats and felt the whole time like we were sliding forward! The show was above average and enjoyable. Bit lost at half time, but looked like others were old hands... could have used a little info. Loved seeing a quality show. The actors were well versed and the tech was terrific. The architecture was amazing. I longed to be on the floor! Next time! We were a big sideways so it detracted a little, but not too bad. Definitely not too cold!
