I enjoyed being able to explore Palais Garnier on my own w/I a tour. I could take my time and really see the beauty in the building. What I didn't care for was all the people that were there. It was chaotic going in when first opening. Too many Instagrammer people hogging the best spots for pics. I finally just walked into their "photo" shoot.

Beauty of the place. On the other hand, many of the halls are closed because of an upcoming show, and many Asian foreigners are posing to be photographed. Finally, the audioguide is not always easy to use.

The bus driver left us sitting on the bus for 20 minutes and didn't say a word that he wasn't going any further. He simply aborted the bus journey. That's not acceptable at all. We were very disappointed and had to make a very long journey home with children. Compensation would be desirable here.

Had to stand, not enough seats and so no access to oral guide sockets. Need more buses!!! Should never have been admitted on the bus, no-one properly checking there were enough seats available upstairs, it was too late to get off again so had to stand on moving bus for first 3 stops, not easy when you're in 70s! Poor value in the circumstances and wouldnt recommend!

I liked the double deck where you can sit outside D the translate into various languages The ticketing experience is where you failed. The location provided was wrong and I waited at the wrong stop. I had to follow a bus on foot to find it where it stopped and could get on. Not good at all.

The hop on, hop off bus tour was yhe best!!! It was a perfect way to travel to the sights of Paris!!! We rode on top on a beautiful sunny Spring day, and everything was lovely! The bus lifts you up above the crowds to make some incredible views possible! Also, the headphones and narration we good (although I think more narration could be done). All in all, well worth the cost!!!

It was our first time in Paris. The bigbus is highly recommended to see a lot of Paris. Especially if you don't have much time. It's worth it and the price-performance ratio is ok. I would do it again. A great experience.

Ticketing experience was great and the experience was fantastic! Our guide for the Eiffel Tower was efficient, friendly and informative and she spoke 5 languages so was able to communicate well with everyone in our group! I liked the format where they facilitate you getting through all the lines and security and get you to the second floor and then show you the elevator for the upper level. You are then free to take your time and wander and take in the views at your own pace with the audio guide to explain what you are seeing. I highly recommend this activity! We also did the boat ride and hop on hop off bus and they were both great!

Locations covered during Emily in Paris tours

Emily’s Apartment: Place de l’Estrapade

Nestled in the vibrant Latin Quarter, this historic building is where Emily’s Parisian adventure begins. The neighborhood’s winding cobblestone streets, independent bookshops, and bustling cafés perfectly capture the youthful, energetic spirit that defines Emily’s character. The apartment represents her fresh start in a city steeped in tradition and offers viewers a window into the day-to-day life of a young woman chasing dreams abroad. Walking these streets, you experience the romance and challenge of adapting to a new culture that is central to the show’s narrative.

Gabriel’s Restaurant (Les Deux Compères) — Terra Nera

This beloved Italian bistro is both Gabriel’s workplace and residence, making it a hotspot for some of the show’s most tender and complicated moments. The restaurant reflects Paris’s rich culinary scene and the importance of food as a cultural connector in the series. Here, viewers witness the simmering romance and personal struggles between Emily and Gabriel, making Terra Nera a key location where personal and cultural worlds collide.

Boulangerie Moderne

Emily’s first indulgence in authentic Parisian pastry culture happens here, as she savors her inaugural pain au chocolat. The bakery symbolizes Emily’s openness to embracing local customs and simple pleasures despite initial cultural missteps. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the small things—like a flaky pastry—are the sweetest entry points into a new life.

Savoir Agency & Place de Valois

Emily’s workplace is at the core of many cultural clashes and humorous moments throughout the show. The elegant exterior of the Savoir marketing agency juxtaposes modern business ideals with Paris’s historic charm, echoing Emily’s own challenge of fitting into an unfamiliar professional world while staying true to her American values. Place de Valois serves as a bustling urban meeting place, underscoring the blend of tradition and contemporary ambition.

Palais Royal & Colonnes de Buren

With its striking black-and-white striped columns and perfectly manicured gardens, Palais Royal is one of the show’s most visually arresting settings. This elegant space represents Paris’s artistic heritage and serves as a serene, reflective spot where Emily often contemplates her new life and friendships. The iconic columns are symbolic of the show’s stylish aesthetic and Emily’s navigation between bold individuality and classic Parisian grace.

Jardin du Luxembourg

This sprawling garden is one of Paris’s quintessential outdoor spaces, offering a peaceful respite from the city’s hustle. Emily’s jogs and social outings here underscore her efforts to integrate into Parisian life while maintaining her American vivacity. The garden’s timeless beauty reflects the show’s romanticized yet realistic portrayal of the city’s lifestyle.

Saint-Germain-des-Prés

This historic district, with its legendary cafés, bookshops, and intellectual spirit, embodies the bohemian Paris that has inspired artists and thinkers for centuries. Through Emily’s eyes, viewers experience the charm and complexity of this neighborhood, highlighting the city’s blend of old-world sophistication and contemporary culture.

Café de Flore

One of Paris’s most historic cafés, Café de Flore is a gathering place steeped in literary and artistic history. Emily’s scenes here ground her character in the authentic café culture that’s vital to Parisian life. It’s a setting for intimate conversations and subtle cultural clashes, showcasing the city’s social fabric.

McDonald’s Champs-Élysées

This surprising filming location blends Paris’s cosmopolitan nature with playful modernity. The unique menu featured here in Season 3 humorously underscores the show’s theme of cultural fusion—where global brands meet Parisian flair.

La Samaritaine

A recently restored luxury department store, La Samaritaine symbolizes Paris’s enduring reputation as a global fashion capital. Its inclusion in Season 2 showcases the city’s elegance and innovation, tying in perfectly with the show’s focus on style and luxury.
