Our Guide (Blanca) was really knowledgeable and gave us an insight to a selective number of paintings. Without this we would have just looked at them and moved on without really understanding the background and the art. It has changed the way we approach our visits to such venues and would look to book a personal guide again rather than just access to the building

Our guide David was super knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. He seemed to navigate the crowds very well - though we were just a small group. I loved that I was able to buy tickets at the last minute. The guide was superb -- energetic, knowledgeable, and personable. His enthusiasm for art could not help but infect his listeners, too. The ticketing process had a glitch. It took a long time to get 2-step verification from my bank to pay for tickets with my credit card. I had to log into the app before they would send a verification code to let the purchase go forward. While I struggled with that, the Headout website refreshed itself and reassigned the tickets to the default setting -- the current day. I ended up paying for two tickets that I could not use because I was not yet even in Madrid. Please do one of two things: 1. Allow more time before your website refreshes or 2. Notify users that the date has been reset to the default date (current date) with a big, hard-to-miss pop-up screen.

Getting in and having special access was fundamental to enjoying the tour and avoiding the long queues at the door. Avoiding the long queues was the highlight of choosing to buy the tickets through the APP, the ease of purchase, the quick turnaround and the communications too. Just one observation: the tour is long and it's practically impossible to do it all in one day. Another important point of this ticket is the possibility of visiting any day within a year and on any day of the week and at any time. However, this is good for those who can be in Madrid for more days and organize their schedule. That's fantastic!

I preferred the visit to the Prado Museum because it was set up differently albeit by the same guide. It was also richer in information about the historical and cultural background of the time when the works were created. The first part at the Reina Sofia museum, I found the museum's reception of the group poorly organized, with lots of downtime. The guide in presenting the works gave so much space for open-ended questions to the group about the feelings the paintings conveyed that I found it scattershot. The guide's knowledge of the works was impeccable.

I booked a party of six and my credit card was charged the full amount. Upon arrival at the tour center, I was told that my booking could not be found. When I insisted, they finally said they found my booking but do not have tickets or a tour guide for our group. They literally asked us to leave and not to waste their time. When I asked for a refund, they said I should contact the booking agent. It was a total disappointment and waste of time on our part.

It was nice. Good route and nice audios while going around. The only thing I didn't like was that it is named "Hop on Hop off tour" but its a bus without stops, so especially with kids it would have been better to have that option of going down whenever you'd like.

ould have been a great tour but there were no stops - unfortunately also no real visible info prior bying the tickets. That's a huge dissatisfaction for some of the spots we would have liked to visit a bit longer and continue the tour later which was not possible - but the tickets were already bougt.

Plus points: - always good to have a general view of a city - the 2 routes - historical & modern - are interesting Minuses: - too bad there weren't any intermediate stops so you could get off/climb to visit the sights - not all audio outlets worked properly - staff a bit nitpicky: with QR-Code + validity date, excessive to ask for printed tickets again

The richness of the collections - the way the Reina Sofia tells some of the modern history of Spain through art, the construction of Guernica through Dora Mar's photographs, the outstanding and uncrowded Thyssen-Bornemisza

It was nice to be able to see Madrid above street level because then you really see how beautiful the buildings are. The tour itself was not very fascinating little was told about the history of the city or certain places, just which architect designed it. I would have liked to hear a little more.

We started at Tysenn. Everything went very smoothly, the accreditation and the entrance. Not so in the Pardo (the second visit) where there was the main queue and a second shorter queue (20' wait) to accredit the QR code. With the Reina Sofia we finally had a second shorter queue, but as there were less visitors there were a couple of minutes of waiting.

I bought the tickets thinking I'd be able to get on and off at the places I wanted (HOP ON/OFF), but all I got was misleading advertising. The place to catch the bus was also not the most central or suitable for those on foot. It was worth the driver giving me some tips on how to get around Madrid by bus for free.

Of course the art is what made it memorable. We were glad to be able to take a break in the cafe. The maps were confusing and we missed galleries we wanted to see. The restrooms were hard to find.

The activity itself is great. The problem is the lack of complete information about the service. IT'S NOT HOP ON HOP OFF. You can only get on and off the bus at a single stop.

The ride and the audio guide were very good. What was not good was that there was no indication at the time of booking that there are currently no more hop-on hop-off tours in Madrid, only panoramic tours without stops. It was therefore not possible to get on the bus near our hotel as we had intended, so we had to ask around and walk to the starting point at the Prado MUSEUM.

None warned me that the bus was no longer hop-on hop-off, so one could no longer get off at each stop and quin di could only get on from a predetermined starting point. This caused us considerable inconvenience

1) I was confused when I got to the venue as to why I didn't already have a ticket. At one of the venues, the ticket office person initially rejected it as a valid voucher. I had to explain to her that it was. 2) the tour groups at the Prado make the experience impossible to enjoy for independent travelers. You should try to reserve certain hours of the day when tour groups aren't allowed to operate. They monopolize all the masterpieces.

Things to know before booking your tickets to Museo del Prado

Flexibility is key 🔑: Tickets to the Museo del Prado come with the perk of flexible entry, meaning you can visit on any day within a year of purchase, up to 30 minutes before closing. This makes it easy to fit the museum into your schedule, especially if you're unsure about your exact travel dates.

  • Go for: Museo del Prado Tickets

Audio guides enhance the experience 🎧: Consider upgrading your ticket to include an audio guide. Available in multiple languages, these guides offer detailed insights into the artworks and can significantly enrich your understanding and enjoyment of the museum's vast collections.

  • Go for: Museo del Prado Guided Tours

Consider the Paseo Del Arte card for art lovers 🎨: If you're passionate about art, the Paseo Del Arte card offers great value. This pass gives you access not just to the Prado, but also to the Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia museums. It's perfect for a deep dive into Spanish art across different periods and styles.

  • Go for: Paseo del Arte 3-Museum Pass

Free admission times 🆓: If you're on a budget, consider visiting during the free admission times from 6pm to 8pm on weekdays and from 5pm to 7pm on Sundays and holidays. This can save you the cost of a ticket, but be prepared for potentially larger crowds during these times. But, skipping the lines for a seamless experience is always recommended.

Avoid carrying large bags 🛍️: Large backpacks or suitcases aren't allowed inside. If you're heading to the museum straight from travel or another activity, check your bags at the available storage facilities at the museum.

Accessibility and convenience ♿: The museum is accessible to wheelchair and stroller users, making it convenient for visitors with mobility issues or families with young children.
