Punctuality of appointments and pick-up! On the other hand, some rather cavalier schedule changes the day before could have caused us to cancel our visit by moving it from 1:00 pm to 11:00 am. All the more so as we learnt that the morning of the tour was partially booked. 11H00: Cathedral+Giralda and 15H00: The Alcazar.

The experience was ten, our guide, Guadalupe, was a great professional, explained very well, and in detail, the visit to the cathedral. Very nice and pleasant. We also did with her the guided visit to the Alcazar. We were delighted. A totally recommendable experience, essential in the visit to Seville. I would repeat, no doubt.

Beautiful experience that is worth the price of the ticket especially if done with a tour guide, I highly recommend the skip the line which we did and it allowed us to enter without waiting, there is a kiosk inside, a little expensive, but it is all part of a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

very good guides. BUT I was not informed that the tour was postponed by 2 hours. The subcontractor (concierge sthose) claims to have sent me an email. I received nothing, not even via the Head Out app. Maybe they sent via What's app. If that's the case, they should let us know because when you arrive from overseas, you don't necessarily have access to your cell phone number. In short, it was the guides who saved the day, because I was really frustrated at having to change my entire day's schedule without notice. I will not do business with headout again.

The tour by the guide was very good and detailed/informative. You could ask questions and got answers immediately. Well done. What was problematic - for us - was the general rush and the resulting chaos of voices. But that's just the way it is! All in all, it was very good.

Beautiful visit worth the price (comments, and beauty of the Alcazar, enhanced by the humor and knowledge of Francesco, our guide. A cathedral steeped in history, too much rococo for my taste... It's a pity he didn't give us the tickets to take advantage of other free tours including: colegial del salvator...

The guides are very friendly and make the visits very pleasant. The sites are extraordinary, of course, especially the real Alcazar. The only drawback is that the combo was done in 2 parts, at 11 a.m. then 2:45 p.m., and it's not presented that way.

First part in the cathedral had poor audio equipment , audio kept breaking up even within 10m of the speaker. Second part in Alcazar had much better and reliable audio equipment. Both presentors were good and informative. I do wish there would have been a few more short breaks as we had senior citizen with us and its hard to stay up 2.5hrs non-stop.

The guided tour of around 1 1/2 hours in the heavily frequented cathedral included information that was told at lightning speed by the guide and he also paid too little attention to the fact that not all participants are equally good or fast on foot. We had some older people in our group. Otherwise, everything was fine.

The Seville Cathedral is an iconic and one of the most visited landmarks in Spain. Here are a few reasons why you should take a Seville Cathedral guided tour.

Highlights covered on your Seville Cathedral tour

seville cathedral tours

Royal Chapel

Added to the cathedral in the 16th century, Capilla Real or the Royal Chapel is a Renaissance-style structure placed right behind the Great Chapel featuring royal tombs and two altars. One altar is home to a silver shrine that consists of the relics of Saint Ferdinand while the other features a 13th-century figure of the Patron Saint of Seville, the Virgin of the Kings, holding a 22-carat gold crown with almost 12,000 precious stones on his head.

Capilla Mayor

Known for housing the richest and largest altarpiece in the world, Capilla Mayor or the Great Chapel consists of the main chapel along with several other side chapels, a choir, and 15 doors. The altarpiece, which features 45 beautifully carved scenes from the Bible, is made of polychrome wood and gold and is placed opposite the choir. The scenes depict events from the life of Christ and Santa Maria de la Sede, the patron saint of Seville Cathedral.

seville cathedral tours

Chapter House

A Spanish Renaissance addition to the Seville Cathedral, the Chapter House was built in the 16th century right next to the Main Sacristy. Also known as the Capitular, the Chapter House is home to several beautiful paintings and artworks of Murillo. It is known for its magnificent domed ceiling that reflects the stunning marble floor. The Chapter House was built to listen to the problems of the members and arrive at a resolution that would be agreeable to everyone.

seville cathedral tours

Door of Forgiveness

Also known as Puerta del Perdon, the Door of Forgiveness is located in the North Façade of Seville Cathedral and provides access to the Patio de los Naranjos (orange tree courtyard) from Calle Almanes. Originally built as the entrance to the Almohad Mosque, the Door of Forgiveness has retained its shape of a horseshoe arch and several other Islamic architectural elements like the intricate carvings and inscriptions from the Quran on the iron door. The door, which is now used as an exit from the cathedral, was embellished with terracotta sculptures and plaster ornaments in the 16th century.

seville cathedral tours

Colombiana Library

Located on the west side of the Patio de los Naranjos, the Colombiana Library houses over 6000 copies of rare books, 940 incunabula, and manuscripts on the discovery of America. Several of these manuscripts have been written by Christopher Columbus himself. Fernando Colon, a known scholar and second son of Columbus, inherited his father’s personal library after his death and bought books to enrich it. The library, as of today, contains books on Columbus’ interests and explorations. It is maintained by Seville Cathedral and is accessible to students, scholars, and book lovers.

seville cathedral tours

Main Sacristy

Accessible from the antechambers of the Capilla Mayor on the south side of Seville Cathedral, Sacristia Mayor or the Main Sacristy is a Renaissance-style museum displaying the Montanes crucifix and several magnificent and iconic artworks by celebrated Spanish artists like Francisco de Goya, Bartolome Esteban Murillo, Luis de Morales, Campana, Zurbaran, and others. Also, find many beautifully- crafted liturgical items made of gold, silver, and other precious metals. The ceiling of the dome depicts scenes from The Last Judgment while the interiors feature arched doors, sculptural reliefs and a beautiful oil painting called Descent from the Cross.

seville cathedral tours

The Tabernacle

The Baroque-style Tabernacle Church inside Seville Cathedral is a temple and a place of worship for Catholics. A heritage treasure inside the church comprises artist Juan Martinez Montanes’ carving of Jesus when he was a child. It also features Christ’s crown of thorns.

seville cathedral tours

Office Pavilion

Built between the 18th and 20th centuries, the Office Pavilion is a Neoclassical addition to the cathedral featuring a series of offices and museums that were constructed because the then-existing rental units, barns, and warehouses were in a dilapidated condition. The pillars that make up the interiors of the new rooms inside the Office Pavilion are made using mortar. The arches were built to make the walls and the rooms more stable and secure.

seville cathedral tours

Patio de los Naranjos

Also known as the Orange Tree Courtyard, the Patio de los Naranjos was retained from the Almohad Mosque and is lined with beautiful orange, palm, and cypress trees. The Moorish-style courtyard was originally the prayer hall of the mosque. The courtyard, as we know it today, also features a large fountain from the Visigoth Period built on the site of the Sabil, an area where Muslims performed ritual ablutions before entering the mosque. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a tiring tour.

A wonderful guide who took us through the history of this building with sensitivity and care. La Giralda, make the climb, you can take breaks and the view is magnificent. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Guide was excellent. He knew his subject well and answered direct questions about Seville cathedral and the Giralda tower that he may not have been expected to know. Being able to skip the queues (and it was very busy leading up to Holy Week) was a real bonus. The cathedral and Giralda tower are well worth visiting and well worth paying for the speedy entrance and guide.

We were able to enter quickly at the appointed hour but there was no fast line. Very nice view from the Geralda Tower. Easy to go up with enough recup places to rest and also have a nice view.

Beautiful experience that is worth the price of the ticket especially if done with a tour guide, I highly recommend the skip the line which we did and it allowed us to enter without waiting, there is a kiosk inside, a little expensive, but it is all part of a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

It's magnificent, splendid. But a lack of organization. You buy the tickets but you don't know which queue to get into. It's stressful. Whereas if there were signposts. Those who already have their ticket, those who don't. The tour at such and such an hour... In short... And I find it really very, very crowded. It's impossible to take nice pictures. But it's still a great experience.

Everything worked perfectly. Except for retrieving the ticket, as the mobile reception was poor and there was no WiFi available
