It was great to have tickets up front as that meant we would have had be in two queues - this way we got in faster. The Topkapi Palace & Harem are not to be missed.
The Palace is amazing and very interesting to discover. Booking the tickets by the app is the best thing ever. The thing not so great is when you loose the conection to audioguide.
Our guide Daphne was awesome! She knew her history of the Palace, she had a Gsoh to, loved the 1 hour tour with her😊
The guide was good but the overall experience was not great due to the sheer number of visitors to the palace. Long queues to enter and for each attraction inside... 😡
The jewels and rooms of the palace are worth seeing. Well maintained gardens. On the downside, there should be a limitation of capacity by time slots because the palace was overcrowded and you could not enjoy the visit calmly and quietly.

On the day set aside for visiting the palace it was pouring rain and cold so the skip-the-line ticket, which works excellently, ga allowed us not to take water at least in the queue. The palace beautiful and interesting but all open and because of the weather was enjoyed less than expected.

It crashed several times. If I tried to check steps of the guide it went to the side of the screen and I could see the half of the the meniu only. It happened suddenly and sometimes got fixed without explanation either. However, it was really annoying and I stopped using it after 5-6 times restarting the tour guide. The good side of the tour was your staff and smooth entry. For that I can give 5 star. He was really clear and informative.
Ticketing - easy Entrance to Topkapi - a PAIN. I will not recommend you as there are NO lines at the normal counter (and this is not the first time.) The only lines are at the travel agencies offering "fast track."
Very easy to follow directions. Tour started on time. This was my second trip to Topkapi with family and loved it. Very easy to book online.
The opulence of the Ottoman sultans was on display when we visited the treasury. Overall its a good experience glimpsing through all the courtyards. It takes about 3 hours to finish this tour. Recommended for those who would like to see history and learn something about the past.
The palace is amazing and worth to visit, Regarding the audio guide provided by the ticket salers this is not very easy to use and it will be better to have the original one. Furthermore the ticket does not give access to the church in courtyard one. In general this tour is a little bit expensive
Doruk our Guide was friendly & knowledgable with great English speaking skills. Topkapi palace is beautiful and there is so much to see. Information boards are informative and make sure you download audio guide before the tour. Set aside 3 to 4 hours at least.
Beautiful place. Loved the clocks section - it truely was amazing. Overall good. The only drawback is the number of public toilets in this place is far less compared to the actual number of people coming - especially the ladies section...
We had a great experience with our guide Salah. He spoke excellent English and took his time with the group. He also knew much more than just the standard tour script. Even some historical questions from other guests didn’t throw him off. A fantastic experience! Two Belgian sisters – best regards!
ticketing experience was excellent. Our guide, Derek was very informative and extremely responsive to the group. The pace was perfect for a busy hot day. He explained the history of the Palace and his knowledge of the museums was extremely helpful for when we toured later on our own. Overall we would give Derek 10 our of 10 for his knowledge and service to us and the group as a whole.
Efficient organization, even if you don't actually save much time, except by avoiding the purchase of tickets. We started with the harem, so we had total freedom to move around the palace.

Everything except the way it is organized to come trough. I tought I have the ticket already and don't need to meet somebody in a coffe shop . Also because of thsi I could not get my audio guide. I don't understand why I needed this as there was no line on the ticket office.
The group was huge and so it took a long time for everyone to get in because the guide has the QR code on their cell phone and has to let everyone in individually. The same with the entrance to the harem!

This tour did not meet my expectations. We were taken to the three courtyards, given a bried description and allowed to skip the lines to the harem. That's it. The guide, Muhammed, told us to wait afte scanning us in to the Harem so he can give us the audio guide link - we waited for about 10 mins. He was a no show. He had left after scanning us in! So there we were - no audio guide, and no way to go back to scan the QR code for the audio guide. A totla waste of money and time. Do not recommend this particualr tour.
Everything well arranged and after visiting the harem (because this must be with a guide) you have free time. Beautiful palace, well worth a visit.

The Topkapi Palace is very beautiful and the visit can be made at leisure. However, we had to wait half an hour at the ticket office before we could get in, as there is no individual accompaniment. In addition, given the number of visitors, the site lacks toillettes, which causes a lot of waiting. We didn't have an audioguide, and the guide didn't give us time to pick them up if they had to be picked up at a specific point.

The place is breathtaking...you can't imagine what you are about to see and, of course, pictures of the place are not the same as seeing the cistern live and direct. It is an exciting, moving place, so full of history. A not very long visit that allows you to be in the historic district of Istanbul with the Hagia Sophia and Sultanhamet mosques and the Topkapi Palace, as neighbors. In addition, a cool place that helps to coexist with the heat of the city. It has a good back-up auditory.

We made a combined booking with Fastlane. For Hagia Sophia and Cisterna Basilica, the tickets we sent were immediately our valid tickets. Worked perfectly. Both sights were very beautiful and interesting. At Hagia Sophia, as a non-Muslim you "only" get to the first level and can look down into the whole mosque. Also very impressive, but not really explained beforehand. At the Topkapi Palace there was only one reservation in the mailing, which is easy to overlook, and we only noticed in front of gate 2 (where you need real tickets). We then had to go back to an agency outside Gate 1 so that we could finally get in with a tour lady. It worked but with a certain loss of time. The palace itself was huge and very beautiful. Be sure to book a ticket with harem access (as we had), this part is the highlight of the palace. All in all, a great day with lots of wonderful impressions.

We got in quickly to the Palace. Nice Guide with good English. He was was with us for just over an hour. They leave you at the entrance to the Hareem and leave you to see the collections & Hareem on your own. This suited me and the info boards were good - all in English. Also you can download an audio tour too.
We really enjoyed our visit to Topkapi Palace, despite the rain. Our tour guide was very good. The main issue we found was the way the tour had to be conducted. Because it is so busy, all guides had to provide information to visitors outside the venues. This meant that you had to remember everything when you went in and had no one inside to ask questions. Still worth a visit though.
Awesome adventure. Spent half of day there and didn't want to leave. Guided tour was one hour leaded by Ozi. Got an insight on history and fast track as well. Recommended.
İbrahim our guide was great speakerz. After his informative talk on history, we strolled in the Topkapi palace. The palace is absolutely stunning! The architecture, the richness of the decor in the rooms, the perfectly maintained gardens gives an overwhelming impression of beauty and opulence.

We enjoyed the 5 visits and the cruise, all works well. The delivery of the Istambul Kart made us lose a lot of time, because in the first day we gone to the Topkapi kiosk exclusively to receive our Istambul Kart as wright in the papers we received. They told us that now the point of delivery changed and we must go to the Dsign Café near Blue Mosque. Since we are going to Grand Bazar on foot it was not convenient to go there. In the afternoon we gone there exclusively to receive the card but no one from Megapasss was there. In next day we visited Topkapi Palace and at the kiosk they told us to go there after the visiting. At last we could have our Istambul Kart. This change was very inconvenient and Megappas should have told us about that alteration when we bought the Megapass.
Useful skip-the-line admissions..nice guided tour of the Blue Mosque even if only in English..

I arrived 20 minutes before my 10:00 a.m. tour at the Cafe location specified. I showed the representative the ticket on my phone and gave him my name. He wrote me out a ticket and told me to join the group that was just leaving. My ticket said fast track and did not mention a guided tour. I told the representative that I did not think this was the right tour. He insisted it was and that I needed to join the group leaving at that moment. It was a large group and I was unable to speak to the tour guide. Once we were in the palace and before we entered the Harem, I did speak to the guide and he said I was on the wrong tour. He tried to reach my tour by phone, but they had already left and were somewhere on the grounds. He gave me admission to the Harem and told me to speak to the Cafe representative when I left the palace. I did go back and they said that I would have to contact the office for a refund. I asked about the second tour to Hagia Sophia that I had purchased as part of the combined ticket and they directed me to another cafe. When I arrived there, the representative directed me to the tour guide and I was told that I had to join a tour that was going to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia or forfeit my outing, so I did join the tour though I had already toured the Blue Mosque. Altogether, it was a confusing and frustating experience.
Not good
The guide at St. Sophia was very hurried, there were other groups around us with whom the guides spent much more time giving more explanations. The Topkaki Palace guide fully met our expectations, he was nice, friendly and very professional

I booked a combo guided tour Hagia Sofia and Topkapi palace, few days before arrival. Booking was incredibly easy and the payment quickly. We was about to miss our trip because of a bunch of airplanes delayed, but finally we did it safely. First tour was to Hagia Sofia, at 10.00 am, with a great girl guide named Buse. On time, great organized, pleasant people. We was more than thankful for it. The second tour, with another guide, Denis, also a great guy, at Topkapi, 12.00 am, needed more than 2 hours. We definitely recommend headout in Turkey, easy to access and trustful!! Enjoy it!
The guides were very friendly and explained things very well.
The guide were very knowledgeable
I sent in my request for full refund that was given to me at the site. But haven't heard anything back. I was given the wrong meet address on the email so I had to pay for 2 taxis once I spoke to someone in the phone who said the meeting was changed. She talked to the taxi driver and sent a link that was still wrong! I even was talking to her the whole time I was walking to the meet up and sent pictures where I was until I got there. She said other people had the same problem and she made them aware I was on my way. The venue person said they left and I would have to go somewhere else, Plus it would not be a guided tour that I paid 99.00 USD for. But just take me there! She told me I would get everything refunded to me and gave me the link. But still.... no reply 2 days later
Bad tour operator. Told me to change dates. Timing was 12, asked me to come at 11:30 and started it at 12:30. Guide was good.
We were supposed to do the 2 visits but it was impossible to do them on the same day as Topkapi finished at 3pm and the visit to Saint Sophia started at the same time. We had to wait until the next day. And frankly, paying 500 euros for 5 people, including 3 children, for a guide who explains that 10 minutes is a BIG FRAUD !!!!!!!!

the team asked us to walk to another point for the meeting point and said headout doesnt update customer about this and we asked 100 times to the person there what it is showing in email and ticket is this location and he made us walk to topicafe as another location and there they asked us to go back and we went back there and missed the 1:45 trip and then offered us if we are okay just to go inside hagiya sofia without tour guide and the person was disrespectful saying it is not his job..totallu disappointing service and lack of professionalsim !!!
Purchased this for skip the line entry at Hagia Sophia and Topkapi where lines were surprisingly really long. The tour guide Hal was great at Hagia Sophia and we could explore the mosque at our own pace inside. Topkapi offers free audio guides and tour covers only a part of the palace. Group size was quite large 25-30 people so we used audio headsets that didn't function very well. Recommend for Hagia Sophia, but recommend self paced tour of Topkapi - there's a lot to see there but the information museum provides is good you can manage on your own.
All was good. Our guide Haluk was very entertaining and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our experience of hagia sophia but we thought he will take us to topkapi palace also. But there was another guide for the palace.
Hagia Sophia tour was fantastic, great informative guide. 5 stars. The Topkapi guide had poor English and was impatient. The lousy headsets ruined the tour for some. Could have read the information boards for free.
So much history and very well explained by the tour guides! Although we turned up at 10 it turned out the tour didn't start until 11 so we had to wait around an hour.
Solo due persone hanno potuto partecipare per via di un problema di salute degli altri due. E' possibile ricevere un refund o almeno un voucher per due quote. Grazie
The guide was very good and friendly, but at the time of booking it was not indicated that in our package there was a difference of 3 hours between one activity and another.

Shortly after his conquest of Constantinople (the historical name for Istanbul) in 1453, Mehmed the Conqueror started building the first level of Topkapi Palace. He lived here until his death in 1481. Ottoman Sultans stayed at Topkapi Palace in Istanbul until the 19th century. After a huge fire devastated the royal kitchens in 1574, Sultan Selim II entrusted Mimar Sinan with restoring the damaged sections of the palace. Topkapi Palace remained an Ottoman stronghold throughout this period.
About Topkapi PalaceThe Topkapi Palace harem formed the residential quarters of the sultan’s family and was rigorously partitioned by gender. In the 16th century, Sultan Murat III had his apartments built here, eventually making it the sultan’s palace as well. The harem, like all the other structures of the palace, was constantly refurbished and expanded to meet growing demands. The outcome today is a complex plan with a variety of architectural influences.
Topkapi Place HaremThe royal arms and weapons were kept in the External Treasury. The artifacts in the collections, like other objects at the Topkapi Palace Museum, were either made by workshops on the Sultan’s orders, acquired at markets, received as presents from visiting diplomats, or accumulated from conquered people.
About Topkapi Palace MuseumSituated at the eastern end of the court, the Topkapi Palace Treasury includes priceless riches like silver, gold, emeralds, jades, rubies, pearls, and diamond-encrusted artifacts. The jewel-encrusted Sword of Süleyman the Magnificent and the remarkable Throne of Ahmed I, studded with mother-of-pearl and fashioned by Sedefkar Mehmed Agha, builder of the Blue Mosque, are also worth seeing.
The Topkapi Palace kitchens, which currently house the imperial porcelain exhibit, were located in the second courtyard. The porcelain collection demonstrates the Ottoman Empire’s global reach, with items acquired from Europe, as well as China and Japan. Celadon from China was treasured as dinnerware because it was thought that if the food served in it was poisoned, it would change color.
The first courtyard, also known as the First Court, is the palace’s largest and sole public space. Throughout the reign of the Ottoman Empire, the imperial gates were open to anyone unarmed. The wide expanse of the courtyard was perfect for celebrations and parades, and it was probably the busiest of the palace's squares.
The Salutation Gate opens to the Second Court of Topkapi Palace. Known as the Divan Square, the Second Court used to be the administrative center. This area would only be open to the members of the court and other formal visitors. In the Domed Chamber, also known as Council Hall, members of the imperial council met many times a week to deliberate the empire's administrative concerns.
The Felicity Gate, with its canopied entrance, opens to the Third Court, or the innermost square of Topkapi Palace, which accommodated the Sultan’s private home and the internal imperial school. The sultan, his family, his staff, and the rare authorized guest were the only ones who could enter. Visitors to the Sultan were limited to the Audience Chamber and were required to conform to a strict protocol.
The third courtyard connects to the Fourth Court of Topkapi Palace. It is home to the Baghdad Pavilion, Circumcision Chamber, and Yerevan Pavilion, all of which are lavishly ornamented. The charming gilt-bronze Iftar Pergola, where sultans often broke their fasts if Ramadan occurred in the summertime, is one of the most distinctive features.
