Considering the various and multiple attractions that await us in the visit of our capital, I think it is essential to be able to take advantage of the proposed packages, such as Roma pass , this allows you to circulate with tranquility and ease of movement ,schedule the days and related cadential visits. The only aspect that I would improve and the associated map, ver 'that you have smartphones , but a figurative is always useful. the Romans are pleasant (if you pose in the right way ... often forgotten) then I highlight that overall and clean' , always magical, the second year that I do three days of visit ... but I'll be back ....ci miss it already' .By Max and Barby

Thank you so much to the staff members who waited for me despite my late arrival. Unfortunately my bus was late and I was so worried I would miss the time slot, but they waited for me and also tried to call me. Thank you for helping me to see amazing art while in Rome <3

Tickets were easy to use. Don't understand why we had to meet someone for a non-guided tour, felt like an unnecessary step.

Top things to do in Rome

World‑class concentration of Bernini & Caravaggio

No other venue offers four of Bernini’s early life‑size narrative statues plus six Caravaggios in their original context.

Authentic 17‑century villa setting

Artwork, décor, and architectural ornamentation remain in situ, providing an immersive time‑capsule absent from purpose‑built white‑cube museums.

Park‑within‑a‑park experience

Immediate spill‑out into Rome’s third‑largest landscaped park enables easy bundling with bike tours, picnics, or sunset terrace aperitivos.

Capacity‑controlled intimacy

Strict timed slots (180 guests per hour) create a rare “private viewing” atmosphere. That's also why tickets routinely sell out weeks in advance.

  • The Borghese Gallery adheres to a strict crowd management and time-slot system, permitting only 180 tourists at a time for a duration of 2 hours. Each new slot opens hourly.
  • Tickets are guaranteed only through advance booking, and can be purchased up to 90 days before the visit. The earlier you book, the better. The silver lining? Fast-track access is automatically guaranteed because of the strict time-slot and visitor cap.
  • Upgrade your tickets for an immersive multilingual audio guide, or a dedicated host who assists you with navigation and entry. Or pick a guided tour with an expert art historian and small group of up to 15 guests. Gain in-depth insights and enhance your appreciation of the gallery’s masterpieces.
  • Wheelchair users can access the gallery through the back entrance, in Piazzale Scipione Borghese n. 5. To access the second floor, you will have to use a smaller wheelchair that fits inside the lift, leaving your own wheelchair behind. On arrival at level 2, visitors can switch to a more comfortable wheelchair.
  • Entry to the Borghese Gallery is free on the first Sunday of every month. However, reservations must still be made if you plan to visit on this day, and tickets are mandatory for museum access. You can reserve your free Sunday visit up to 10 days in advance. Entry to the Borghese Gardens within Villa Borghese is free and you don’t need separate tickets.
  • EU citizens between the age of 18-25 can avail reduced pricing upon presentation of a valid government ID. Visitors holding a Roma Pass are also entitled to get free or reduced entry to the Gallery. However, this too requires prior reservation.
  • Although a visit duration of two hours is fixed by museum, add half an hour for ticketing and cloakroom; another one to two hours if combining with a stroll through Borghese Gardens orRome Bioparco. While planning your visit, consider booking morning slots for fewer crowds or evening slots to enjoy a stunning sunset view from the Pincio Terrace.

Louise Bourgeois: Unconscious memories

The current exhibition at the Borghese Gallery marks a historic first, showcasing the work of female artist Louise Bourgeois for the first time in the gallery’s history. The exhibition focuses on pieces that intertwine her memory with the collective and public memory of the museum itself. Bourgeois was deeply influenced by the psychoanalytical school of thought, and her initial visits to the Borghese Gallery keenly influenced her approach to imagining how old art forms interact with the new.

Last date of exhibition: September 15, 2024.
