Just standing in front of the Pantheon is thrilling enough, and being able to quickly go inside and appreciate every detail of this historic monument is even better. There are so many stories surrounding this place; being able to visit the tomb of the King of Italy is simply amazing.
The engineering behind the Pantheon’s construction is fantastic—truly the work of geniuses in such a precarious era. I loved everything, but I’d love a quick shower so I could witness the spectacle of water pouring through the opening in the roof. In short: fantastic.

The queue for online ticket bookings was very long and having to exchange the voucher for the tickets on the Piazza Navona detracted from the experience but inside the Pantheon was very good. In spite of zero control on the numbers admitted, there was sufficient space to look at everything.

They kept me informed throughout the days leading up to the tour, reminding me of the date and time of my reservation.
On the day of our visit, it was easy to meet up with the Vivicos team, and using the app for the audio guide was very straightforward as well. Plus, we could listen to the audio recordings as many times as we wanted, just in case we needed to.
Overall, it was a very pleasant experience—I highly recommend it.

We got in quickly and at the scheduled time. The self-guided tour was spectacular. I could never have imagined just how vast the site is, stretching from the Colosseum to the Palatine Hill and the Forum. We arrived around 12:45 PM and left around 4:30 PM. We took some magnificent photos.
My 19-year-old son really enjoyed this experience.

Quick and easy access to the site.
The audio guide on the phone is convenient.
However, its functionality could be improved in terms of the geographical location of the works described.

The villa is a spendid example of a combination of Baroque art architecture and Roman and Greek art statues and other artefacts. As a bonus you get the paintings, where Carvaggio is the winner. Only the 6 paintings of him are a good reason to visit.

Things to know before booking tickets to Pantheon Rome
Booking window: Tickets open on a rolling basis and sell out 2–3 days in advance on weekends and holidays. On-site purchases are possible but queues can stretch up to an hour. To skip the wait, pre-book online for timed fast-track or hosted entry.
What’s included: All tickets grant access to the Pantheon’s main interior, including the dome, oculus, and tombs of Raphael and Italian kings. General admission () covers standard entry; upgraded options add audio or live-guided tours.
Entrances & flow: Entry is via Piazza della Rotonda, where three lines form: pre-booked, on-site card, and on-site cash. Fast-track tickets skip the purchase line but not the 10–15 min security check. Hosted entry is the fastest option, your host meets you with pre-validated tickets and assists you through entry.
Self-guided vs guided visits: Opt for audio tours in 8 languages or guided visits in English, Italian, French, or Spanish. Small-group tours (≤12–15 guests) provide deeper insight and calmer pacing.
Combos & add-ons: Save with bundles including Castel Sant’Angelo, Colosseum + Forum, or a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus for all-day sightseeing.
Policies: Tickets are single-entry, name-based, and time-specific. Free cancellation (24–72 h) applies per ticket type. Discounts apply for EU residents aged 18–25; under-18s and Rome residents enter free, but must still reserve a slot.

Plan your visit to the Rome Pantheon
Daily: 9am – 7pm Last entry: 6:45 PM (30 minutes before closing). Closed: January 1, August 15, and December 25. Free entry: The first Sunday of every month. Hours may vary during religious celebrations or special events.
Best time of day: Arrive before 10 AM or after 5 PM for softer light and fewer crowds.
Best months: April–June and September–October — cooler weather, manageable queues, and ideal conditions for photography.
The Rome Pantheon has one main entrance, a large portico with Corinthian columns. This is consistent with the design of many Roman temples, which typically have a single entrance at the front. Upon arrival, you will come across three separate lines:
Queue1 (left queue): For those looking to purchase tickets using cash payments.
Queue 2 (middle queue): For those with pre-reserved tickets.
Queue 3 (right queue): For those who prefer purchasing tickets with card payments.
Keep in mind that the middle line moves swiftly. We highly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to expedite your visit. Be sure to select the correct queue to avoid any unnecessary delays.
A dedicated ramp at the side door leads into the rotunda.
Smooth marble flooring allows for easy mobility, though it can be slippery in wet weather.
Accessible restrooms are available near the exit.
Visitors with reduced mobility are advised to book early morning or late afternoon slots to avoid dense crowding.
Tips & Guidelines
Arrive 30 minutes before your entry slot to clear security and begin on time. Walk-up visitors should arrive earlier to secure a same-day slot.
Pack light as large bags, tripods, and valuables are not allowed inside, and all guests must pass through airport-style screening.
Try the “whisper test” beneath the oculus, the acoustics carry even a soft voice across the rotunda.
Photography is allowed, but no flash, tripods, or drones.
Maintain silence during religious services and avoid touching the marble surfaces or tombs.
Modest dress is expected inside this consecrated basilica — shoulders and knees covered.
For the best photos, capture the Fontana del Pantheon with the dome in the background, then unwind at a café in Piazza della Rotonda, a perfect post-visit spot.
