The guide Rita was very good. The ability to 'skip the line' in both the Vatican & St Peters was awesome. What we didnt like was not being able to go back into the Vatican to explore more of it after the tour as there was more to see. Rome is a walkable city so don't waste your money on a Rome bus card, you can just pay with your phone when you actually use public transport. Every sight is at 20 min walk away from one another so bring your most comfortable shoes. Be ware of pickpockets when waiting in line for something

Wear very good walking shoes. Wear or bring a hat and sunglasses. We brought snacks and water flasks to stay hydrated and mangage protien/glucose intake throughout the day. We were tempted by the glass lift in the Vittoriano and spent ages finding it only to find you can buy a ticket just for the lift. You have to buy a ticket for the museum as well. The tickets were very expensive. We booked tickets with the intent of entering the basilica in case our own Trafalgar tour was unable to due to time restrictions by waiting in lines.. As it turns out, we were able to enter the day prior to this guided tour with Trafalgar. The waiting line is not bad at all. We then used these tickets for Vatican museum entry only because the tour lasted more than the 3 hours advertised and we were pressed for time. As a result, we did not make it back to the basics with this guided tour. Too expensive!

If travelling from Rome on a day trip ensure that you leave enough time to get from Naples to Pompeii. You may have to wait a while for your bus or train and you need to factor this in. We had a guided tour which lasted for 2 hours and while that was a tour of the major sites it was still only about half of Pompeii so you may want to leave additional time to get food and see the rest of Pompeii. I think that the tour was very worthwhile because it provided a lot of information that you may not gain on your own.

The booking for a guide and skip the line tickets was made long before my trip took place. This made the experience so much more enjoyable. Being on the ground floor of the Colosseum, seeing the tunnels below you, the walls of the massive structure above you. All explained by a committed individual, that really wants you to appreciate and fully understand what you are looking at is invaluable. The Forum, Pallantine Hill, and Colosseum were amazing, tiring, hard on the feet, but something not to be missed, and never forgotten.

Time is always your enemy, see too little you are disappointed, see too much you are exhausted. Our guide balanced this so well, showing what she believed was the essence of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel etc. We also were able to go behind closed doors to walk where the Pontiff has walked when travelling to and from his private quarters to services and public appearances.

The metro system in Rome is easy to figure out if you can read maps to take you to interesting places. If you are lucky to stay at a hotel that provides information about tourism in the area. Don't hesitate to ask the staff.. we visted a few places after the Vatican tour

Our Guide was knowledgeable about Colosseum. She made it fun. Because of her, we got hassle free entry to all the sites and location, we skipped all lines and were the first one to enter into the Colosseum. I would recommend tourists to book all 3 site tours individually because the guide doesn't show you everything in Romun Forum in a combined tour. Do this tour if you don't have enough time or if you are with family/kids.

We set off on time and although it was busy at the Colosseum we weren't held up with queues. We booked the tour with the arena floor added and it was worth it. We took the guided tour of the Colloseum and the Palatine. The monuments were fairly busy but our guide managed to move us through security and ticket checks quickly and efficiently. The emphasis of the information imparted by our guide was on the lived experiences of the inhabitants of the spaces during the relevant time periods. We found the tour entertaining and highly informative and that our guide gave us a fresh and original perspective on life in the transition between republican and empire Rome. We would absolutely recommend this tour.

This tour was fantastic from start to finish—completely seamless, well-structured, and incredibly engaging. Everything was timed perfectly, so we got to really take in each site without feeling rushed. The communication was spot on, with clear instructions before and during the tour, making it all effortless. The real standout, though, was our guide—an actual archaeologist. Their depth of knowledge and passion for ancient Rome made the whole experience next level. They didn’t just recite facts; they told stories, explained the significance of what we were seeing, and made the ruins feel alive. Every minute was well spent, and nothing felt skimmed over or unnecessary. Standing on the arena floor of the Colosseum, walking through the Roman Forum, and taking in the views from Palatine Hill was already incredible, but having a true expert guide us through it all made it unforgettable. If you’re looking for a properly organized, informative, and engaging tour, this one is an absolute must

Collection of the tickets can be messy and not coordinated in an orderly manner but it was soon forgotten once you managed to find your guide . We have a good guide - Humi a Japanese lady that loves in Italy for 30years. It was a very good tour and our tour guide was very knowledgeable. She was occasionally a litle hard to hear/understand, although some of that was due to the size of the group. The beginning of the tour was a little disorganized, but I think that may have been due to understaffing. it took a while for the group to get organized. A general announcement about how we were being organized would have been helpful. The tour itself was exellent, and our guide was very well informed. It was amazing to see the Colisseum up close. It was worth it to skip the lines, and to move through the process with someone who was familiar with the process. I would recommend the tour to others.

We took a guided tour around the colloseum, Palatine Hill and Roman forum and we were very pleased with it. Our tour guide, Lumi, was very knowledgeable, very sweet, knew when to throw in a bit of sarcasm, when and how to make a connection with the old and new world and when to just say the story. There were kids in the group and she was mindful about them too. At the end she recommended us a few places to eat and visit. We ended up with a great experience and we're glad we took it.

We purchased our tickets online weeks ahead and it was so easy. Our guide was extrordinary. He was an older man and an archiologist who had been worked at a dig site there at the Roamn Forum years earlier. I wrote his mane down and now I can't find it. He was the most incredibly informative and fun guide. Our experience was fantastic!!! I would highly recomend this to everyone. I think we logged about 15,000 steps over 6 hours for the Colisseum/Palatine Hill/Roamn Forum. So amazing. Bring your camera, good walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, and water bottle & snacks to keep you energized!

On 2nd November we did the Colluseum Arena Tour, with the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill included. It was awesome a fantastic experience. Our tour group wasn't too big and ear phones ensured we were able to hear everything from our very knowledgeable tour guide. There was a a little queuing along with other guided tours, but nothing too much, especially not compared to those who we viewing it all independently. The information from our guide and the amazing sites made it a very memorable occasion. I had also expressed my concern about possibly arriving late due to a change in tour time and our arrival time in Rome, but Brent and Alina kept me up to date and checked on our whereabouts to ensure we were going to get to them in time.

The details sent to us prior to the tour were very clear and helped us to find the meeting spot. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. It was an extremely busy day at the Colosseum but we managed to avoid most of the queues thanks to being on a tour. Without booking a tour, I feel we would have spent many hours in various queues (tickets, security, entry) and not had a clue about what we were looking at. We would definitely recommend.

This tour was amazing, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave excellent information. I went for the underground tour as I wanted to know more about the workings of the colosseum - this was definitely worth the extra money to explore how the events would have worked. The guided tour of the colosseum and Forum was expensive but worth every penny and more. Our guide Emi was fantastic. Our Tour guide was very good. Knowledgeable and funny. He spoke good English and spent sufficient time talking about the Colosseum and Palantine hill. It was very busy and difficult to keep up with the guide at times but the guide's knowledge was really good and really gave us an insight into the Colosseum and it's place in the history of Rome. The tour probably needed to be a bit longer so that there were opportunities for photos and to have a look around. However, the guide packed alot into the 2 hours. Our original booking time was changed which could have been inconvenient as we had to rearrange our day but we were informed in advance.

It was a guide that new his story. The thing I didn't like was the info that was wrong from Headout. The guide did NOT have a red flag. And the guide arrived 10 am NOT 09:45am as we were told to. And the guide said that this was info that he had not revived. So it would be smart to actually communicate with the guide.

This was our favorite tour in our two week adventure through Italy. The underground portion, as well as the Roman Forum and Palantine Hill, was worth the money. We got chills being at the lowest level. The Coliseum is so beautiful regardless, but our guide Julia was amazing. The tour was about 3 hours so give yourself extra time if you're booking other tours and plans, but we didn't mind at all because she gave us so much information. You can tell she loves the job!

The tour was awesome ! We have done a normal general entry collesseum visit before in past year's visit however this time we did this comprehensive tour that included the under floors below the stadium. The star of the tour was the archeologist tour guide whom was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Roman history. We went through Colleseum, Palatine Hill and Forum in detail with insights and before pictures of areas/buildings we were looking at on the day so was easier to conceptualise how it looked 2000 yrs ago. Not the cheapest tour but was worth it for our family.

With the guide? Never longer than a few minutes. Didn't pay attention to the other lines as we went in-seemed like there were various lines, wasn't sure which was for what. So glad to have a guide. By the time our tour was over, the line was hundreds of people long.

The Colosseum is beautiful from the inside, but the Palantine hill is the most beautiful of the 3 locations. The Forum Romanum is not bad either, but you can see it from this hill. The queue is simple, you have to go through security, we had no problem with it, but as i saw no one else did either. It is visited by a lot of people, you can go in by appointment, but there is basically no point in this, they let in as many people in a batch as possible....

If you visit the Colosseum first, forget about going to the Forum Romanum afterwards. The lines for ticket holders is incredibly long. You can enter the Forum Romanum the next morning (ticket is valid for 24 hours). We arrived at 9.15 AM and the first half hour we were alone at the Forum Romanum. That was great! Around 10AM the groups arrived and it got extremely crowded. The audio tour in the Colosseum was not that great. We visited the amphitheatre in Nîmes, France last summer. The audiotour there was a lot better.

For Rome, get started early. Bring a refillable water bottle as water is freely available. Try to eat & drink everything! For Vatican museum entry and tour, pay CLOSE attention to where entrance is located and if you need to pick up actual tickets. Some on-site from tourist locations require you to go their first.

It's worth going in the morning, there's so much to see and do, the Roman Forum takes a whole day and even then we only walked quickly. There is also a more expensive ticket, but it's not worth buying as there is relatively little to see with this ticket. It's worth following the route you're given. It's good to have water with you (we went in February, it was quite cold, but we were still thirsty from all the walking).

Give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the meeting point -getting there can be complicated. When we arrived, the group was not at the address stated as the meeting point (a cafe) but across the street, some meters into an open space. If you see people gathered near the meeting point, ask if they are your group.

I advise you to go in the morning and as early as possible. Always remember that you have to watch everything carfully, but with respect for other visitors. Finally, if you have the opportunity to read some information in advance, do so, because on site, although there are good explanations, it becomes difficult to read everything and absorb so much information.

Get your tickets in time, maybe not at the Colosseum, but rather in the other entry (Roman Forum entry). Keep in mind, that you have to get the free tickets for the children in advance too (different booth, only for the free tickets), so you'll have to wait in 2 queues. The 2nd floor of the Colosseum is often too crowded and a bit chaotic...

Be careful of pick-pockets. They prey on the weak and elderly. Keep your items well concealed. Don't be afraid to start later in the day. You are on vacation. Book your events for noon...that still gives you several hours. Use your credit cards. The exchange banks charge a 20 percent commission. Location, location, location. Yes, I had lunch in Trastevere in Impicientta Ristorante - I recomend it, specially for carbonara, but all the dishes that I tried were very good and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I would like to do also a recomendation of another restaurant that I went to and that I repeated, as I really liked all the dishes that I tasted and also the service. It is Sampietrino - l'osteria di San Giovanni. Lastly, I can't help but mention the pizzeria 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo. The pizzas are very good. The difficulty is to book a table. You need to go there, give your name to a list and wait at the door until they call you. It took me about half an hour to get in, but it was worth it.

You don't have much choice about where you go as you follow the visit route but you can miss out rooms or go through them swiftly. That morning, we saw the Colosseum and spent three hours there prior to getting to the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel. We found that to be very interesting unfortunately, the experienced a very rude host who felt the need to let us know that we were visitors in his country and that we should behave our self accordingly. We were told to walk around railings until we saw the people checking tickets and then to enter at that point. We did so then we saw two people scanning tickets rather than walk an extra hundred yards to the end of the railing. We clicked and opened a door on the railing and stepped back into line, not cutting off anyone and started walking back towards the people, checking tickets and at that point, somebody very aggressively approached us and chastised us significantly for entering an extra hundred yards to the end of the line, even though there was nobody in line.. I had significant damage to both knees and it's very difficult for me to walk long distances so any opportunity I can't to cut the steps down I do because it results in me being able to go longer during the day. I sincerely apologize to the gentleman, but he felt the need to make sure I knew that, visiting Rome and being in his city was a privilege and that I should not abuse that privilege . I think most people in the world and we would never do anything to be rude or take advantage of others by cutting in line.

We called into every church we came across and there was usually one or two every walk. We walked along the Tiber river on the day we went to the Vatican. On other days in Rome we did the Colesseum, Roman Forum, Palantine Hill, Imperial Forum, Italian Memorial, walked the Appian Way and came across a large 2nd century Roman Wall with free museum. We were walking to St Sebastians's Catacombs. Also a recommended viisit. We came across a number of lesser monuments, needles, columns and arches including those of Constantine the Great, Marcus Aurelius, Hadrian. Also Acquaduct of Claudius, the Circus Maxmimus, the Parthenon . To me the highlightes were the Colesseum, Roman Walls, Catacombs and the various churches, many with 16th c and earlier artwork

Definitely book tickets in advance to museums and attractions, they book up fast! Wear comfortable walking shoes, your feet will thank you later! Understand that visiting churches/chapels on Sundays sometimes means you won't have full access. With mass being held, sometimes certain parts of the churches/chapels are closed for private services.

1. Be prepared with a list of what you want to see. 2. actually map it out if you're going to be walking and doing multiple monuments. 3. Don't overload yourself on sightseeing, do maybe half your day sightseeing and the other half just really enjoying the culture and food. Around 5 o'clock they usually do like appetizers and 9:30 PM. Seems to be the time to eat dinner.

Number one Buy your tickets ahead of time Number two take a taxi to the museum and Sistine Chapel as it's a long walk from the Anand off bus. Number three your tickets even though they're very small on the digital format so you understand where you're going to and what line you need to get into and make sure to wear comfortable shoes and don't be surprised if people cut in front of you and are disrespectful inside the museum because some people do so because they're so fascinated with the museum and others do so because they feel Privileged .

1. Plan to walk. its great exercise and you will stumble across worthwhile places to visit 2. Plan your toilet stops and have the necessary coins. 3. Go a different way each time. 4. Food is very much the same everywhere. Don't accept invitations by the spruikers before checking the menu and the reviews. 5. We had no problem with pickpockets and little from husslers. We did come across a pile of discarded wallets and purses, some with id cards scattered around so have a strategy to keep your phone and wallet safe. We both use small one shoulder carry packs that could be worn easily on the front or side. I also had a thin wallet tied to my belt and kept in a front trouser pocket. 6. Don't shake anyone's had or high five them. (I suggest practise avoiding it because it can be natural to shake an offered hand.) 6. Get to your location early and ask staff for confirmation of location, entrances and times. It is easy to go to the wrong place.

Didn't realise that the audio guide wasn't included and we needed to pay extra. They were worthwhile - particularly in the costume chapel so I would recommend getting them. The kids maps wasn't very clear so was difficult to always work out where their audio aligned. Lots of areas to see before the cistine chapel and that's almost the only place that you can sit. We ended up rushing through some rooms as there was simply too much to see and we got fatigued.

Museum is fairly extensive and there is a lot to see. We wanted to know what we were looking at but go at our own pace so we hired the audio guide inside the Museum the entrance. It came with a paper map. The map was not a plan of the museum rather just a numbered line route to the audio reference points. The audio guide was incredibly generic and lacked any specifity to teach us about actual objects or paintings we saw. This was disappointing given there was so much to see and it was so beautifully presented.

If you strongly hope to see The Last Judgement, I recommend you book a ticket for early morning and go straight to Sistine chapel as soon as you enter the museum! When I arrived there around 9:30, it was not so crowded and I could feel relaxed while watching the painting. After 10:00 am, there were a lot of people in the chapel and it was hard to take time to see the painting. I'm so happy that I could finally see some masterpieces that I had dreamed to see since I was a high school student. I was so moved that I went back to see them several times while I was in the museum. At the end of the day I got exhausted as the museum was much larger than I expected. However it's worth visiting!

I just regret the we were'nt inform the groups were not exempt of the line, as we had another engagement later, we would have to stay a little more.

Marmotine prison was not worth it but the rest was fantastic. We went first to the colosseum and then we used the entrance to the Roman market and palatntine hill from the marmotine prison which had no queue.no need to have the marmotine prison ticket to use it.

I like the place, however, I had unfortunately got the ticket for the last batch 5:30 pm so was bit late and had to rush for everything, as wanted to return to the hotel as soon as possible.

The whole experience was very nice and comfortable, except from the Capella Sistine visit, where it was overcrowded and we were pushed to walk and leave the hall very quickly. Also the hall had no lights on so as to admire the frescoes. Furthermore, the "skip the line" feature worked really good. We entered the museum in 10' after we reached the place. There should be a way out to the Saint Peter's Basilica straight from the museums for visitors who have paid a ticket whether individuals or in a guided group.

The place was gorgeous, unbelievably beautiful. The Vatican Museum was quite huge but not so crowded, and the security allowed us to enter early. The Sistine Chapel was a bit noisy but incredibly nice. Even without a guide, we were able to find our way around. Great experience!

It has magnificent works of art. Buying tickets online is very convenient because it saved a lot of time to not have wait in line to enter the museum

Everything about the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum is amazing. So much history and your imagination runs wild thinking about how life was for the people of that time and how much more is yet undiscovered. Also you look in amazement and disbelief how people of that time were able to build and create such architectural beauty without the tools of modern day. Moving blocks of marble and stone and precisely placing them so that they are still standing today is an achievement that modern day building cannot match and will not match ever.

We spent over four hours in the museums, exploring everything from the Pinacoteca to the Sistine Chapel. However, we were most impressed by Raphael's School of Athens. We appreciated the smaller number of visitors.

The place is impressive, but a bit smaller than I imagine. There was not too much crowd. The skip ticket was unnecessary in my eyes. Some of the places without light is making hard to read the information but overall experience is really impressive and important to do once you come to Rome.

It was amazing to see. The history and going at our own pace was enjoyable. Being winter there was less tourists which made it more enjoyable and we didn't need to rush nor did we feel rushed. Fantastic visit for sure.

We bought the tickets online a couple of weeks before our visit. We did not have any problems in entering the museum and the waiting in the queue was not much. The meuseum was wonderful!

Everything was amazing, the Sistine Chapel is an incredible work of art and the museum had so many interesting things to see. The only downside is the crowd, but it’s inevitable because Rome is a world-famous destination.

İnanılmaz yapılar var, kocamaaaannn. Bi süre sonra yoruluyor ama insan keşke arada bi yere çıkış yapsalarmış. Bir gününüzü ayırın bu geziye. Her yapıyı incelemek isterseniz inanılmaz uzun sürer.

All, only problem that headout informed us that entry hours are until 8 pm but we were kicked off:) at 7 pm, which made us sad. Knowing this, we would prefere entry at earlier hour. Thanks

We needed a little help with our tickets and everyone was very helpful! The museum itself is amazing! It was very crowded in the Sistine Chapel, but we were able to spend as much time as we wanted. Why are pictures forbidden in that area?

We walked about 90 minutes from our hotel. Got there 30 minutes early and we at the front of the queue. The previous queue was long but nothing like the two hours I've been told to expect. We were there in November. Probably the most difficult part of the trip was finding publick toilets on the walk there and back. There was a steady pace of people but it wasn't overly crowded. Interal toilets had queues. There was plenty to see and plenty of time to see it.

O lugar mais lindo e fantástico que eu já visitei em toda a minha vida. Vale a pena pelo menos passar uma tarde inteira neste passeio. Sem filas pra comprar o ingresso, facilita muito!
