The shear beauty and magnitude of the building and really it was walking up the steps that brought me this moment of awe.

This is the first time I've used Headout for a booking. What can I say? I had a great experience. At the agreed time, I met one of their representatives, who was very friendly, helpful, and MULTILINGUAL. She gave me my tickets and explained all the steps I needed to take to access the facilities without any problems. I recommend this host.

The host was very easy to find, and there were no lines at the entrance. The pantheon is impressive; it's a place you can't miss if you come to Rome.

The Colosseum, Forum, and Palatine Hill are incredible places to visit. These are monuments that are not to be missed. My partner and I really enjoyed ourselves and were pleasantly surprised by how peaceful the Palatine Hill was. We even wondered how this was possible, given that it is a historic monument in the heart of the capital. As for the Pantheon 🏛️, we enjoyed it, it's still a monument worth discovering, but we were a little disappointed because we expected to see more, as it's "only one room" to visit, especially since the combo ticket wasn't particularly good value, as the price is €5 per person and we paid €10 per person. We found it expensive for what it actually was.

Visiting the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to Rome. Standing inside the Colosseum, it was impossible not to imagine the roar of the crowd and the dramatic gladiator battles that once took place there. The scale of the structure is overwhelming, and knowing it has stood for nearly 2,000 years makes the experience even more powerful. Walking through the Roman Forum felt like stepping into the heart of ancient Roman life. What looks like ruins at first slowly turns into a vivid picture of temples, political gatherings, and everyday social life as you explore further. Palatine Hill was a perfect contrast — quieter, greener, and offering stunning panoramic views over both the Forum and the Colosseum. Learning that this hill is considered the birthplace of Rome added a special sense of meaning to the visit. Overall, this combined visit is a must-do in Rome. It beautifully connects history, architecture, and atmosphere, leaving you with a deep appreciation for the grandeur of ancient Rome.

A sumptuous palace, probably the most beautiful in Rome, that I never tire of visiting, brimming with works of art, each more magnificent than the last. The limited number of visitors makes the experience all the more enjoyable!

Things to know before booking tickets to Pantheon Rome

  • Booking window: Tickets open on a rolling basis and sell out 2–3 days in advance on weekends and holidays. On-site purchases are possible but queues can stretch up to an hour. To skip the wait, pre-book online for timed fast-track or hosted entry.
  • What’s included: All tickets grant access to the Pantheon’s main interior, including the dome, oculus, and tombs of Raphael and Italian kings. General admission ($5) covers standard entry; upgraded options add audio or live-guided tours.
  • Entrances & flow: Entry is via Piazza della Rotonda, where three lines form: pre-booked, on-site card, and on-site cash. Fast-track tickets skip the purchase line but not the 10–15 min security check. Hosted entry is the fastest option, your host meets you with pre-validated tickets and assists you through entry.
  • Self-guided vs guided visits: Opt for audio tours in 8 languages or guided visits in English, Italian, French, or Spanish. Small-group tours (≤12–15 guests) provide deeper insight and calmer pacing.
  • Combos & add-ons: Save with bundles including Castel Sant’Angelo, Colosseum + Forum, or a Hop-On Hop-Off Bus for all-day sightseeing.
  • Policies: Tickets are single-entry, name-based, and time-specific. Free cancellation (24–72 h) applies per ticket type. Discounts apply for EU residents aged 18–25; under-18s and Rome residents enter free, but must still reserve a slot.

The Rome Pantheon has one main entrance, a large portico with Corinthian columns. This is consistent with the design of many Roman temples, which typically have a single entrance at the front. Upon arrival, you will come across three separate lines:

  • Queue 1 (left queue): For those looking to purchase tickets using cash payments.
  • Queue 2 (middle queue): For those with pre-reserved tickets.
  • Queue 3 (right queue): For those who prefer purchasing tickets with card payments.

Keep in mind that the middle line moves swiftly. We highly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to expedite your visit. Be sure to select the correct queue to avoid any unnecessary delays.

  • The Pantheon is wheelchair-accessible throughout.
  • A dedicated ramp at the side door leads into the rotunda.
  • Smooth marble flooring allows for easy mobility, though it can be slippery in wet weather.
  • Accessible restrooms are available near the exit.
  • Visitors with reduced mobility are advised to book early morning or late afternoon slots to avoid dense crowding.

Tips & Guidelines

  • Arrive 30 minutes before your entry slot to clear security and begin on time. Walk-up visitors should arrive earlier to secure a same-day slot.
  • Pack light as large bags, tripods, and valuables are not allowed inside, and all guests must pass through airport-style screening.
  • Try the “whisper test” beneath the oculus, the acoustics carry even a soft voice across the rotunda.
  • Photography is allowed, but no flash, tripods, or drones.
  • Maintain silence during religious services and avoid touching the marble surfaces or tombs.
  • Modest dress is expected inside this consecrated basilica — shoulders and knees covered.
  • For the best photos, capture the Fontana del Pantheon with the dome in the background, then unwind at a café in Piazza della Rotonda, a perfect post-visit spot.
